Who We Are

Fiddler's Green Farm is a family business combining the energy, love, and hard work of two Maine families in Belfast, Maine. We make delicious cereals, pancake & baking mixes. All the high quality ALL ORGANIC grains are stone ground to order in small batches for vitamin richness and superior flavor. We have been milling grains in the midcoast Maine area for the past 16 years, and our cereals have won critical acclaim nationally!

Northern New England is famous for hearty farm breakfasts that begin with porridge.... Penobscot Porridge, a blend of wheat, corn, rye, and brown rice, is one of the finest local versions..... nutty, grainy, robust, and rib-sticking....

All of both families contribute to the business. Allen mills all the organic grains and takes great pride in the art of stone grinding. Laine does the office work, makes the mail order catalog, and maintains the Fiddlers web site. All family members share in many tasks, from putting together gift packs at the holidays to suggesting products. Customers receive the personal attention of the owners.

Most of the products we sell are made by us..... like our cereals, baking mixes, and pancakes mixes, jams and syrups. We also offer other high quality organic products, which you will see here. These are from companies we admire. For example , the coffee we carry is Equal Exchange Coffee, a Fair Trade organic coffee company. The Equal Exchange coffee farmers in South America are guaranteed a fair price for their coffee and are advised in organic farming techniques and sound business practices. If you haven't tried their coffee, it is fantastic- give it a try.

The Yerba Mate - a very popular and traditional South American herbal tea - is from a company called The Mate Factor. It is also a Fair Trade organic company and it has a contagious soul as it spreads the unique South American tradition and good health of this wonderful, invigorating tea.

The herbs we sell are from McFadden Farm, an organic family farm much like our own farm but on the other side of the country in Potter Valley, north of San Fransisco. The herbs are the highest quality, and are packaged beautifully.
